Welcome to Long Lake

A fabulous waterfront vacation home

We named this place Cuan Suaimhneach, which means "tranquil cove" in Irish Gaelic. And that's exactly what you'll find here, a peaceful retreat tucked away in a cove - out of the heavy lake traffic but directly on Long Lake. It is just minutes from downtown Traverse City, Interlochen Arts Academy, and Turtle Creek Stadium, and just a short drive from attractions such as Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, the Mission Point Lighthouse, and others.

House

Enjoy more than 3300 square feet of lakefront living directly on the water. This 5 bedroom home is three levels, with four bathrooms, two large living rooms, and a garage that has been converted into a giant playroom. The house is just steps from the lake, with a huge, shallow, sandy-bottom area for kids to splash and play in. Mom and dad can join in, watch from the dock, or enjoy the games from one of the two large decks. Take the kayaks out for a spin, or hide out on the lower deck with your camera and try to get photos of the loons that come around from time to time. There is also a large patio area with a fire pit, perfect for gathering at night, making s'mores and recounting the adventures of the day.

Location

Long Lake is a 2,860-acre all-sports lake located six miles west of downtown Traverse City. You may enjoy swimming, kayaking, water skiing, tubing, or floating on the water. Rent a pontoon boat for a leisurely spin around the lake or a visit to one of the (not-so) secret island party spots. Hunt out one of the closely guarded fishing spots or cast a line right from our dock.

Our house is 9.5 miles from Traverse City's Cherry Capital Airport.  It is only about seven miles from each of Interlochen Center for the Arts and Turtle Creek Stadium.  It's around a half-hour drive to Sleeping Bear Dunes or Crystal Mountain.

The area also boasts a number of terrific wineries and distilleries, casinos, and entertainment venues. There are hundreds of miles of trails to explore, rivers to float, and streams to fish. Don't forget to take a boat ride on the West Bay or visit Cherry Republic while you're here.
